DWTS Recap: Prince Night (Semi-finals)

Hey guys! Welcome to this week's DWTS recap. This week was the semifinals & it was also Prince night. All couples performed two dances to songs by Prince. One new dance & one dance they've done before but can improve on.

Let's get into it.

Round 1

Elaine & Alan

Dance: Foxtrot (week 5, dedication night)

Song: "I Wanna Be Your Lover"

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27/30

My score: 9

This was amazing (obviously) & it was better than her first Foxtrot, technique-wise. I just enjoyed her first Foxtrot a bit more.

Alix & Val

Dance: Argentine Tango

Song: "Little Red Corvette"

Judges' scores: 9, 10, 9 = 28/30

My score: 9

I loved this! It was so sharp & clean. I feel like she could've hit some of her moves a bit harder but other than that, this was basically flawless.

Whitney & Mark

Dance: Cha Cha (week 2, one-hit wonders night)

Song: "1999"

Judges' scores: 9, 10, 10 = 29/30

My score: 9

This was good & it was clean. It just wasn't her best dance, TBH.

Dylan & Daniella

Dance: Tango

Song: "I Would Die 4 U"

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27/30

My score: 9

This was great. It just wasn't his best dance.

Also, ZAC EFRON WAS IN THE AUDIENCE AHHHHH!

Jordan & Ezra

Dance: Jive (week 2, one-hit wonders night)

Song: "Raspberry Beret"

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27/30

My score: 9

This was great & I loved the choreo. I just didn't enjoy this as much as their first Jive (their first Jive is one of my favorite dances of the entire season so far). I also feel like she needed just a little bit more attack.

Robert & Witney

Dance: Jive (week 1, premiere)

Song: "Baby I'm a Star"

Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30

My score: 30

Not only is this my favorite Jive of the whole season, this might just be my favorite Jive in DWTS history. His kicks & flicks were out of this world & I LOVED the choreo. I can't say one bad thing about this dance.

Round 2:

Elaine & Alan

Dance: Paso Doble

Song: "When Doves Cry"

Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30

My score: 10

This is easily her best dance so far & it is not even close. It was so sharp & clean & she ate up every single move. Loved it!

Alix & Val

Dance: Viennese Waltz (week 4, disney night)

Song: "Purple Rain"

Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30

My score: 10

Just like Robert's Jive this week, this is 100% my favorite Viennese Waltz of the season & one of my favorite Viennese Waltzes of all time. It was beautiful. So graceful & so elegant & she executed it very well. I loved it!

Dylan & Daniella

Dance: Cha Cha (week 1, premiere)

Song: "Kiss"

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 10 = 28/30

My score: 9

This is such a massive improvement since his first Cha Cha & he is definitely the most (pleasantly) surprising person in the cast this year. His technique has improved tremendously & I also loved the choreo.

Also, again, ZAC EFRON WAS IN THE AUDIENCE AHHHHHH!

Whitney & Mark

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Song: "Slow Love"

Judges' scores: 9, 10, 10 = 29/30

My score: 10

Obviously, this was amazing! It was so elegant & so graceful. Her frame was great & her lines were beautiful. The choreo was chefs kiss.

Jordan & Ezra

Robert & Witney

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Song: "WOW"

Judges' scores: 10, 9, 10 = 30/30

My score: 10

Just like Alix's Viennese Waltz this week, this might be one of my favorite Viennese Waltzes of all time. It was so sexy but elegant at the same time. I loved every second of this. Witney ate with the choreo.

Anyway, next week's finale is going to be 3 hours & all of this season's couples will be back & all remaining couples will perform 3 dances - a new dance, a freestyle, & an instant dance where the will not know what dance they're doing & what song they're dancing to until 5 minutes before they perform.
