DWTS 34 Recap: Finale

Hey guys! Welcome to my final DWTS recap of the year. I can't believe this season is already over. I really wish they would bring back two seasons a year & like Tom said, I would love for them to bring back result shows.
Anyway, this week, there were three rounds of competition - a judges' choice round (a judge appeared in rehearsals & gave each couple a dance they would like to see them do & kind of give tips/pointers), an instant dance round (all couples didn't know what dance they're doing or song they're dancing to until five minutes before the perform. The only thing they had to go by is it was going to be one of the first four dances they've done. So, they technically had to learn seven dances this week), & a freestyle round. The winners were also crowned.
Judges' choice round:
Dance: Samba
Song: "Hip Hip Chin Chin" by Club des Belugas
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 10
Oddly enough, I wouldn't say this was her best dance. However, I would say it was my favorite Samba of the season & it was deserving of a perfect score. That probably doesn't make any sense but anyways, moving on.

Dance: Paso Doble
Song: "Stampede" by Alexander Jean feat. Lindsey Stirling
Judges' scores: 9, 9, 10 = 28/30
My score: 9
As good as this was, it definitely wasn't his best dance. I did love it & I loved the choreo. It was just a bit underwhelming for me.

Dance: Rumba
Song: "Take My Breath Away" by Jae Hall
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 10
This is one of my absolute favorite dances of theirs & probably my favorite Rumba ever. I loved the choreo & this was absolutely stunning.

Dance: Quickstep
Song: "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" by Jet
Judges' scores: 9, 10, 10 = 29/30
My score: 10
Like Alix's Samba, this wasn't his best dance but I'm still giving it a 10 & it was one of my favorite Quicksteps of the season.

Dance: Paso Doble
Song: "Breakin' Dishes" by Rihanna
Judges' scores: 9, 10, 10 = 29/30
My score: 10
I liked this more upon rewatch & after rewatching it, I think it deserved a perfect score. I was living for the choreo & they ate up every single move.

Instant dance round:
Dance: Cha Cha
Song: "Where Is My Husband" by RAYE
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 9.5
Obviously, this was a massive improvement from her first dance & it was impressive for only five minutes of actual rehearsal. There was a small mishap at the end but it didn't really affect the dance & it was literally right at the end of it.

Dance: Foxtrot
Song: "Ordinary" by Alex Warren
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 10
Between the last two seasons, this is probably the best instant dance I've seen & it was such a massive improvement from his first foxtrot. Not to mention the choreo was chefs kiss. Loved it.

Dance: Quickstep
Song: "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes
Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9 = 27/30
My score: 9
Okay, this was good. However, I saw quite a few mistakes which is very unfortunate but they only had five minutes of actual rehearsal so, I was expecting to see some mistakes from some of the couples.

Dance: Cha Cha
Song: "Cake by the Ocean" by DNCE
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 9.5
This was good & even though there was a tiny mistake, I do think it was better than his first Cha Cha.

Dance: Tango
Song: "I Like It" by Alesso & Nate Smith
Judges' scores: 10, 10, 10 = 30/30
My score: 9
As good as this was, I don't think it deserved a perfect score. Maybe at least one 9. I just didn't enjoy is as much as her first Tango.

Freestyle round:
Song: "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado/"Sports Car" by Tate McRae

My score: 10
I don't really have a lot to say for any of these freestyles because I loved them all.
Anyways, Alix ate up every single move & this freestyle was so jam packed. I loved it.

My score: 10
Dylan is probably the most impressive person I've ever seen on DWTS. I was not expecting him to be this good especially with no dance experience. He has grown so much as a dancer. From being shy & one of the weakest dancers from the premiere to flourishing into this fluid ballroom dancer (who made it to the finale). It was beautiful to see. My man is a DANCER.

Song: "I Hope I Get It" by District 78 (from A Chorus Line)

My score: 10
This is probably the most creative freestyle I've ever seen. I was living for the concept/storyline & I've never seen anything like it. I also loved how they included Lisa & Andy.

My score: 10
Okay, this was obviously amazing! However, it wasn't my favorite freestyle of the night. I did love the choreo, though & I'm still giving it a 10.

My score: 10
WOW! This was Ezra's first freestyle & my man didn't disappoint. This might just be one of my absolute favorite freestyles of all time & I loved every single second of it. Also, Normani's appearance had me GAGGED!

Congratulations to Robert & Witney (my team LOL) for winning season 34 of DWTS & that concludes my DWTS 34 recaps for the year. Obviously, I will be doing this again next year LOL.
