Hey guys! Welcome to my DWTS recap for Halloween night. This week, all couples danced to a spooky/halloween-ish song. All couples also participated in a dance monsterthon to earn extra points. Former DWTS pro & 2-time champion Cheryl Burke was the guest judge.

Let's get into it.

Individual round

Whitney & Mark
Whitney & Mark

Dance: Jazz

Song: "Brain Stew" by Green Day

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9, 10 = 37/40

My score: 9.5

I loved every second of this & I loved the choreo & they looked amazing! They were out of sync for like half a second but it was barely noticeable & they recovered extremely quickly. Other than that, this was basically flawless.

Jordan & Ezra
Jordan & Ezra

Dance: Contemporary

Song: "Elastic Heart" by Sia

Judges' scores: 9, 8, 8, 9 = 34/40

My score: 9

I loved this & I loved the concept. I also loved how they used the harness. Some of the moves seemed a tad bit messy to me but I still loved it.

Andy & Emma
Andy & Emma

Dance: Paso Doble

Song: "Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67: I. Allegro con brio" by Ludwig van Beethoven

Judges' score: 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28/40

My score: 7

I do agree that this was one of his better dances & I liked the concept. I just feel like he was walking around more than dancing & it was a bit stompy to me.

Elaine & Alan
Elaine & Alan

Dance: Argentine Tango

Song: "Bad to the Bone" by 2WEI & Bri Bryant

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 8

Okay, this was good. However, I feel like if she wasn't in the hospital during the show & actually performed it live, this would've been incredible. I'm glad she's okay, though & will be back to perform this week.

Danielle & Pasha
Danielle & Pasha

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Song: "Die with a Smile" by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars

Judges' 8, 8, 8, 9 = 33/40

My score: 8.5

This was good & I love the concept. Some of her moves just seemed a bit stiff to me.

Robert & Witney
Robert & Witney

Dance: Argentine Tango

Song: "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Hampton String Quartet

Judges' scores: 10, 9, 9, 10 = 38/40

My score: 10

My team finally got the 10s they deserve! This was flawless. It was so sharp & so powerful!

Jen & Jan
Jen & Jan

Dance: Contemporary

Song: "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 9

I actually felt that this was kind of underscored. I thought this was her best dance! I liked the choreo at they executed it very well.

Alix & Val
Alix & Val

Dance: Tango

Song: "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish

Judges' scores: 10, 10, 9, 10 = 39/40

My score: 10

This is definitely her best dance so far & it's not even close. It was so sharp & clean & her frame was out of this world. My favorite dance of the night for sure!

Dylan & Daniella
Dylan & Daniella

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Song: "Can't Help Falling in Love (Dark)" by Tommee Profitt & Brooke

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 8, 9 = 35/40

My score: 9

This was amazing & it was one of his better dances so far. His butt was out just a little bit but it was still amazing & I loved it. Also, Dani killed it with the choreo as per usual.

Monsterthon

All couples also participated in a dance monsterthon to earn extra points added to their score. They all danced the Hustle & the Lindy Hop to "Murder on the Dancefloor" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor & "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)" by Fergie, Q-Tip, & GoonRock. Since Elaine was at the hospital during the show, the judges scored her individual dance based on rehearsal footage & she was not able to participate in the monsterthon, so her & Alan got 0 points.

Here are the results of the monsterthon:

  1. Whitney & Mark - 5 points

  2. Alix & Val - 4 points

  3. Jordan & Ezra - 4 points

  4. Robert & Witney - 3 points (should've gotten more points but anyways...)

  5. Dylan & Daniella - 3 points

  6. Danielle & Pasha - 2 points

  7. Jen & Jan - 2 points

  8. Andy & Emma - 1 point

  9. Elaine & Alan - 0 points

Those are all of the dances. Here are my rankings based on personal enjoyment:

  1. Alix & Val's Tango

  2. Robert & Witney's Argentine Tango

  3. Whitney & Mark's Jazz

  4. Jordan & Ezra's Contemporary

  5. Danielle & Pasha's Viennese Waltz

  6. Dylan & Daniella's Viennese Waltz

  7. Jen & Jan's Contemporary

  8. Andy & Emma's Paso Doble

  9. Elaine & Alan's Argentine Tango

Tonight is Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night. Each couple will perform a dance to a song by an artist or group who was either inducted into the RRHOF or are planned to be. Flavor Flav will be the guest judge. Here are tonight's dances:

  1. Alix & Val - Paso Doble to "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi

  2. Andy & Emma - Contemporary to "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys

  3. Danielle & Pasha - Contemporary to "Dream On" by Aerosmith

  4. Dylan & Daniella - Jive to "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John

  5. Elaine & Alan - Viennese Waltz to "What the World Needs Now is Love" by Dionne Warwick

  6. Jordan & Ezra - Jazz to "River Deep - Mountain High" by Ike & Tina Turner

  7. Robert & Witney - Paso Doble to "Icky Thump" by the White Stripes

  8. Whitney & Mark - Paso Doble to "No More Tears" by Ozzy Osbourne

All couples will also participate in a team dance. However, for the first time ever, both co-hosts will be apart of the team dances. Julianne will be on one team & Alfonso will be on the other. Here are the teams:

  1. Alfonso, Danielle & Pasha, Whitney & Mark, Jordan & Ezra, Dylan & Daniella (Team Chicago) - Freestyle to "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago

  2. Julianne, Andy & Emma, Robert & Witney, Alix & Val, Elaine & Alan (Team Kool) - Freestyle to "Celebration" by Kool & the Gang

That's it for this week's DWTS recap.

Until next time,

~Brianna.
