Hey guys! Welcome to another DWTS recap. This week was One-Hit Wonders night & the first two couples were sent home in a double elimination.

As always, I will be covering all dances, ranking them based on personal enjoyment & I will list the dances for next week.

Let's get into it.

Alix & Val
Alix & Val

Dance: Jive

Song: "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega

Judges' scores: 7 ,7, 7 = 21/30

My score: 7

This was a great way to open the show & it was an improvement from last week. It was a bit stiff in some places but it was still a solid performance.

Danielle & Pasha
Danielle & Pasha

Dance: Cha Cha

Song: "The Rhythm of the Night" by Corona

Judges' scores: 7, 6, 6 = 19/30

My score: 6

This was good. I just liked last week's dance a bit better. This one was a little bit messy & she's a little bit timid with her movements, too. There was also a tiny mishap at the end of the dance. I liked the choreo, though.

Andy & Emma
Andy & Emma

Dance: Tango

Song: "It's Raining Men" by the Weather Girls

Judges' scores: 6, 5, 5 = 16/30

My score: 5

This was okay. He was just a bit stiff & he didn't really do much. He was walking more than doing the actual Tango, honestly. The beginning of the dance was probably the best part IMO. He's a joy to watch, though & I liked the choreo.

Lauren & Brandon
Lauren & Brandon

Tango: Foxtrot

Song: "Lovefool" by the Cardigans

Judges' scores: 7, 7, 7 = 21/30

My score: 7.5

This was so stunning and so elegant. I love how Brandon kept the choreo traditional. It definitely deserved at least one 8.

Jordan & Ezra
Jordan & Ezra

Dance: Jive

Song: "Maniac" by Michael Sembello

Judges' scores: 8, 7, 7 = 22/30

My score: 8.5

First of all, I thought the 7s were a bit too low but that's just my opinion. Anyways, this was AMAZING & IMO, it was the best dance of the night by a landslide. The choreo was an EAT & I have not stopped watching this since Tuesday. I'm obsessed.

Corey & Jenna
Corey & Jenna

Dance: Cha Cha

Song: "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot

Judges' scores: 5, 5, 5 = 15/30

My score: 5

This was...a lot LOL. It was definitely entertaining. As for the actual technique, it was just a bit stompy. I also kind of feel bad that he was eliminated because it seemed like he genuinely wanted to be there & improve.

Jen & Jan
Jen & Jan

Dance: Quickstep

Song: "Take On Me" by a-ha

Judges' scores: 8, 7, 7 = 22/30

My score: 7

This was good. I love how Jan kept the choreo traditional even though there was a lift LOL.

It's just not super memorable.

Robert & Witney
Robert & Witney

Dance: Tango

Song: "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior

Judges' scores: 8, 7, 7 = 22/30

My score: 7.5

I wouldn't say this was better than last week but it was pretty darn good. His frame was nice & it was pretty sharp. I personally didn't mind the breakdown but it was a little bit messy to me. It was a solid performance.

Elaine & Alan
Elaine & Alan

Dance: Jive

Song: "Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil

Judges' scores: 7, 7, 7 = 21/30

My score: 7

This was really good & I liked the choreo. Her arms still need a bit of work & her turns need

some work, too but she's so good! I can't wait to see her ballroom dances.

Baron & Britt
Baron & Britt

Dance: Samba

Song: "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison

Judges' scores: 6, 6, 6 = 18/30

My score: 6

I don't think this dance was as bad as the judges made it out to be (I know, I did give them the same score). His Samba bounce was pretty good. I did see a little mistake which kind of threw me off but I still liked it.

Whitney & Mark
Whitney & Mark

Dance: Cha Cha

Song: "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry

Judges' scores: 7, 7, 8 = 22/30

My score: 8

I knew she was going to eat this dance up & she didn't disappoint. I definitely liked this better than her tango. However, this was a bit chaotic & messy at times but I loved every second of it. Also, Mark's choreo was chefs kiss.

Hilaria & Gleb
Hilaria & Gleb

Dance: Tango

Song: "What Is Love"by Haddaway

Judges' scores: 7, 7, 7 = 21/30

My score: 8

This was good & technique-wise, she's probably the best one there. I just didn't like this as much as her Cha Cha. It didn't really wow me & it's not very memorable to me.

Dylan & Daniella
Dylan & Daniella

Dance: Samba

Song: "Macarena (Bayside Boys Remix)" by Los del Rio

Judges' scores: 7, 6, 7 = 20/30

My score: 7

He is probably the most impressive out of this entire cast. He does a lot of the moves very well (the battucadas, the samba roll, the whisk, etc.) He just needs to work on his fluidity & he's still a bit timid.

Scott & Rylee
Scott & Rylee

Dance: Cha Cha

Song: "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65

Judges' scores: 6, 6, 6 = 18/30

My score - 6.5

He is good & he definitely has a lot of potential. I just don't feel like he is moving as big as he could. It's all very small & not impactful. I know he can do better & the potential is definitely there. He just needs to work on his technique.

Now that I've covered all of the dances, here are my rankings based on personal enjoyment:

  1. Jordan & Ezra's Jive

  2. Whitney & Mark's Cha Cha

  3. Dylan & Daniella's Samba

  4. Scott & Rylee's Cha Cha

  11. Baron & Britt's Samba

  12. Danielle & Pasha's Cha Cha

  13. Corey & Jenna's Cha Cha

  14. Andy & Emma's Tango
