DWTS 33: Dedication Night Recap

Hey guys! Welcome to my recap for DWTS Dedication night. This week, each couple did a dance dedicated to someone in that stars' life.

So, let's get into it.

Chandler & Brandon

Dedicated to: her mother

Dance: Contemporary

Song: "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40 (WHAT???)

My score: 10

Can somebody PLEASE tell me how this dance was better than Brooks' yet it still got the same score. This dance getting all 8s will forever piss me off. I'm not dissing the judges by any means because they know what they're talking about but the scores for this dance still has me baffled even a week later.

Anyway, I thought this dance was beautiful and it deserved at least one 10 so, there's that.

Stephen & Rylee

Dedicated to: men's gymnastics

Dance: Argentine Tango

Song: "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes

Judges' scores: 8, 9, 8, 8 = 33/40

My score: 9

This was definitely his best dance. It was sharp and his frame was nice. It was still a little bit stompy here and there and the ending was a little wobbly but this was an improvement from his other dances.

Danny & Witney

Dedicated to: Mike Leach (his former football coach)

Dance: Contemporary

Song: "Unsteady (Erich Lee Gravity Remix)" by X Ambassadors

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9, 9 = 36/40

My score: 9

Okay, I think this dance was amazing and it was very deserving of those 9s. However, I definitely don't think it was better than Chandler's. I just feel like this wasn't as fluid compared to Chandler's. It was for sure his best dance, though and it was one of my favorites of the night.

Dwight & Daniella

Dedicated to: his kids

Dance: Rumba

Song: "Shoot for the Stars" by Dwight Howard

Judges' scores: 7, 8, 7, 7 = 29/40

My score: 8

This was my least favorite dance of the night but it was still really good. However, he was a bit stiff and he's probably the weakest one left at the moment. He just needs to loosen up a bit and work on his footwork a bit but for a man as tall as he is, he is pretty good.

Phaedra & Val

Dedicated to: her mother

Dance: Rumba

Song: "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 8.5

This was beautiful. I loved the choreo. It was a bit wobbly in some places, some movements could've been a bit more fluid and I would've liked a bit more hip movements but this was definitely one of her better dances.

Brooks & Gleb

Dedicated to: her sisters

Dance: Salsa

Song: "Mi Gente" by J Balvin & Willy William

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 8

I do think this dance deserved those 8s. However, it definitely wasn't as good as Chandler's. The fact that they got the same score completely boggles me. This dance wasn't bad by any means. I actually kind of liked it and I liked that her sisters were included in it. It was just kind of wobbly in some places.

Joey & Jenna

Dedicated to: his fiancé (Kelsey Anderson)

Dance: Viennese Waltz

Song: "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims

Judges' scores: 9, 9, 9, 9 = 36/40

My score: 9.5

My goodness...the man can MOVE! I am obsessed with the choreo. They looked amazing. Everything about it was amazing! However, almost every time he is in frame, something just doesn't look right. I don't know what is (it might be just me). Anyway, I LOVED this dance nonetheless.

Ilona & Alan

Dedicated to: women's rugby team

Dance: Rumba

Song: "My Way" by Yseult

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 8

I think this was one of her stronger dances. Her lines and her legs were nice and there was some nice hip action. A couple of movements were a little bit stiff, though but it was fun to watch.

Jenn & Sasha

Dedicated to: Taylor Swift

Dance: Foxtrot

Song: "The Archer" by Taylor Swift

Judges' scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32/40

My score: 8.5

This dance was beautiful and it was her best dance by far. Her frame and her lines were absolutely beautiful. She was so elegant. I loved watching this. I thought for sure it was going to get at least one 9 but I guess not lol.
